Perennials

Bleeding Heart

It is easy to see where Bleeding heart gets its name.  This is a perennial that explodes with beautiful pink or white heart shaped flowers on arching stems each spring.  The blooms will last for several weeks, but after it blooms the entire plant will go dormant and disappear.  Bleeding heart is best planted in a shady moist spot.

Creeping Phlox

Creeping phlox is a semi-evergreen perennial that produces an incredible mound of color in the spring.  These plants have a needle-like foliage and star shaped flowers in red, lavender, pink, white and bluish-purple that completely cover the foliage each spring.  Creeping phlox is an extremely durable ground cover that can grow in tough soil conditions, excellent for rock gardens.  They grow about 4-6” tall and up to 2’ wide and like part-sun to full sun.
